Aurum Académico Multidisciplinary Journal in Education adopts the double-blind peer review system, ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers throughout the entire editorial process. This model guarantees objectivity, academic independence, impartiality in editorial decisions, and compliance with international standards of scientific quality, in accordance with the journal's specialized educational focus and its biannual publication schedule.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening. This stage aims to verify the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s scope and objectives, compliance with submission guidelines, adherence to the required academic structure, and originality through similarity detection tools. Only manuscripts that meet these requirements proceed to the external review stage.
After successfully passing the preliminary review, the manuscript is generally assigned to two independent external reviewers selected according to their academic expertise and research experience in the relevant field. The evaluation process is conducted without institutional or professional relationships between authors, reviewers, and the editorial team, ensuring the absence of conflicts of interest and maintaining transparency throughout the review process.
Reviewers are selected based on the following criteria: one specialist with expertise in the manuscript’s primary subject area and a second reviewer with experience in a related or complementary discipline. This approach ensures both technical depth and methodological rigor, as well as argumentative coherence and scientific relevance. In cases involving highly specialized topics or significant discrepancies between reviewers’ recommendations, the Editor may appoint a third external reviewer to support the editorial decision.
Review reports must be critical, objective, ethical, and constructive, with the purpose of improving the scientific quality of the manuscript and strengthening its academic contribution. All manuscripts submitted for review are treated with strict confidentiality. Reviewers agree not to disclose or use any information contained in the manuscripts for personal or professional purposes.
Editorial Process and Review Timeline
Manuscript Submission
Once a manuscript is submitted through the journal’s editorial platform, the corresponding author receives an automatic acknowledgment confirming receipt and providing a reference number for tracking the editorial process.
Preliminary Editorial Assessment
The Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Editor conducts an initial evaluation to verify the manuscript’s compliance with the journal’s editorial scope, submission guidelines, and originality requirements. This stage generally takes 7 to 15 days. Manuscripts that do not meet the established criteria may be rejected at this stage.
External Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that successfully pass the preliminary assessment are sent for external evaluation under the double-blind peer review model. The estimated time for this stage, including the first editorial decision, ranges from 20 to 45 days.
Editorial Decision and Author Revisions
When reviewers recommend revisions, authors receive the complete evaluation reports together with the editorial comments. Authors are granted up to 15 days to submit a revised version, accompanied by a detailed response letter addressing each reviewer’s comment and explaining the corresponding modifications.
Additional Review Rounds
If significant discrepancies exist between reviewers’ reports or if the manuscript requires substantial revisions, the Editor may appoint a third reviewer or initiate a second round of peer review, preferably involving the original reviewers.
Final Decision
The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection rests with the responsible Editor, who considers the reviewers’ recommendations together with the journal’s editorial standards and policies.
Publication
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, technical editing, layout preparation, and digital publication. This process typically requires 10 to 20 days following final acceptance. Once published, articles are incorporated into the journal’s official platform and will be progressively included in digital preservation systems, academic directories, and indexing services in which the journal is registered, as part of its ongoing editorial development and internationalization strategy.
